WESTMOUNT

In November 2005 local artists took up the opportunity to move into much needed studio space in St. Helier. The Westmount Studios & Gallery are at the former Parish Depot site at the North East corner of People's Park on Westmount Road, St. Helier.

The site was built in 1929 and its conversion to a space for artists and a central resource for creative initiatives was the idea of Connétable Simon Crowcroft and is a joint initiative between the Parish of St. Helier and the Jersey Arts Trust (JAT)

There is a diverse group of artists working independently and together to produce artwork. There are currently 20 artists working at the site, from photographers, painters, a muralist, a music therapist a Jewellery designer.

Westmont has a Gallery space where artists can showcase their work, it is also open to outside artists to apply to exhibit or use the space. Please contact the Jersey Arts Trust for more information. As the Gallery is situated within the artists' studios, it is possible to walk around and talk to the artists about their work.

The project is run cooperatively managed and supported at arms length by the Jersey Arts Trust.
